Trying to get ahead, I guess. Trying to amuse myself and, maybe, someone else. Just trying, really. Not hard enough. Or too much.

Plagued by the nightingale because, well, I read it in Tender is the Night and I loved it. Then I read in the notes at the back of the book that it was a reference to Keat’s Ode to the Nightingale – so I read that and I loved it because: ‘Fade far away, dissolve, and quite forget’. The reason why I love it is because it is about transience and mortality. The reason why I referred to it in my heading was because I thought these two themes were relevant to the act of blogging.
